Carroll Community College’s program: Ratcliffe Works is dedicated to Building Skills, Creating Futures
Home to workforce training programs including truck driver CDL licensing, automotive repair & EV maintenance, construction trades, welding, entrepreneurship, and more. Most students are eligible for reduce costs through scholarships provided by the Philip E. & Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation.
Through Ratcliffe Works at Carroll, students can train for an in-demand career completely free! Our fully funded programs cover 100% of tuition, fees, and certification testing, so there’s no financial barrier to advancing your career.
Plus, students may qualify for monetary stipends and free toolkits to help them succeed from day one!
Students are guided through programs with help from dedicated Career Navigators and are provided with scholarships, resources, and networking opportunities with local employers. The goal of the programs is to get students trained in skill areas that enable them to secure living wage employment and/or to provide business and entrepreneurial skills so they can become self employed.
Carroll Community College is also investing in future workforce and economic development through the Ratcliffe Applied Technology and Trades Center, scheduled to open in Fall 2025. This state-of-the-art facility will provide hands-on training in welding, automotive technology, plumbing, and other high-demand fields.
The center addresses the growing need for skilled workers as Carroll County’s industrial sector continues to expand. By preparing students with the practical skills needed in these industries, the center will ensure that the local economy has access to a pipeline of highly trained workers.
